OVERVIEW

KGB is a Gameboy CoLoR emulator. What it tries to do is give a really convincing impression of a Gameboy to the software you run on it, usually copied from a cartridge - a ROM image. That is, it will let you play most Gameboy games on your Windows PC. To use it you will require some games, you'll either have to find these yourself or get some free non-commercial games.

PROGRESS

. 2005/04/02 14:20
It's 5 years on now.. still no updates to KGB.. :) I wouldn't expect any any time soon.. :P

Ok.. once again another big break without much news to report. It seems university is keeping me extremely busy this year. My workload is reduced to about half after about July so perhaps then I will have enough time to get the sound part of KGB perfected.

Hello! ^_^ Just checked and it's almost been a month since my last update so I thought i'd better provide some information for anyone interested (but there's NO NEW DOWNLOAD YET!).. :o)

What have I been working on? Well, I quickly added loading support for RAR archives and also support for all DirectInput controllers (big thanks to TNSe!!!). This means you can use all your fancy joysticks/joypads/whatever to play Gameboy games.. woohoo.. ! hehe..

The reason I haven't done a release yet is because I'm FINALLY working on sound. I've written the emulation code for 3 of the gameboy's 4 sound channels and are now trying to integrate the emulation code into the main program (currently i'm producing .WAV files from a sound register dump), hopefully this won't take too long..

CONTACT

Hello, I welcome questions and comments about the emulator. Before you email me please read this, it may save you and me some time.
Ok.. the following things are not yet added or working (but may or will be added in the future): Sound, Game Genie Cheating, Game Shark Cheating, Internet Link-up, Pokemon Trading.

I will not answer questions on the following: Where to get ROMS, how to find XXXXX pokemon, or how to play XXXXXXX game.

Do not email me saying a particular game doesn't work. I already have beta testers and I'm probably already aware of the problem.
Ok.. if your question doesn't fall into any of the above categories then don't hesitate to email.
